Download here the abstract template
To help you structure your abstract, we have created an abstract submission example form. Please note that different types of projects (clinical trial, capacity building project etc) may result in somewhat different types of abstract, but in any case the abstract template is leading.
The deadline for abstract submission is 1 May 2009. Abstracts that are submitted after this date will not be accepted. A confirmation of receipt will be sent to the applicant via e-mail upon submission of an abstract.
Review and publication in Tropical Medicine and International Health
All submitted abstracts will be reviewed on EDCTP relevance and scientific quality by the Forum Scientific Committee. All applicants will be informed of the outcome of the review before 15 June 2009. Authors whose abstracts have been accepted will be contacted by the EDCTP Travel department to make travel and accommodation arrangements and will receive further instructions for presenting their abstract.
Additionally, the accepted abstracts will be peer reviewed and successful ones published in The European Journal of Tropical Medicine & International Health. The abstract template that is on the Forum website complies with the Journal’s requirements so you do not need to submit an extra abstract. However we encourage you to visit the Journal’s website to consult the publication requirements before you submit your abstract to EDCTP.
In some cases the editors of the journal will request for full paper versions of the abstracts. All authors are requested to be prepared for such an event and be prepared to comply with the requests.
PLEASE REGISTER TO SUBMIT AN ABSTRACT
Please download the abstract submission template and complete this before registration. You will be asked to upload your abstract during registration. If an electronic abstract submission faces problems, please contact the Fifth EDCTP Forum Organising Committee at forum[at]edctp.org.
