International Partnership for Microbicides (IPM)
IPM is a non-profit product development partnership (PDP) established in 2002 to prevent HIV transmission by accelerating the development and availability of a safe and effective microbicide for use by women in developing countries. IPM is committed to providing women with an affordable and self-initiated HIV- prevention strategy to reduce the cycle of infection which has led to the deaths of more than 25 million people worldwide and orphaned more than 15 million children since 1981. Like the promise of a future AIDS vaccine, microbicides represent an essential component of an integrated and comprehensive global response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

The Institut Pasteur International Network The Institut Pasteur International Network is a partnership of research and public health institutes spanning all five continents. The ANRS is a public interest group officially created in 1992 which pursues its work in partnership with the French ministries of research, health and foreign affairs, as well as the French research bodies: the National Centre for Scientific Research, the Institute of Health and Medical Research, the Development Research Institute, and the Institut Pasteur.
The ANRS is active in all fields of HIV/AIDS and hepatitis research: basic science, vaccines, clinical trials, epidemiology, public health, human and social sciences. Research in the developing world is one of the priorities of the ANRS and is conducted mainly in Africa and South-East Asia. The research is pursued through collaboration between teams from France, international institutions and national countries. ANRS collaborates with among others NIH, HVTN, ACTG, CDG and MRC.

Germany
Federal Ministry of Education and Research
The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is the German representative in EDCTP. BMBF is a part of the German federal government and supports innovative projects in various research sectors; e.g. in health research, basic sciences, sustainable development, information and communications technologies, life sciences, chemistry and materials science, transport or space research.
Funding of research on poverty related and neglected diseases in general as well as that on HIV, TB and Malaria in particular is embedded in the national framework programme Health Research – Scientific Research for the people with a budget of about 140 million € per year which is managed by a specialised project management agency (PT-DLR). The four important fields of activity included in this program are: 1. Effective fighting of diseases; 2. Research on the health care system, 3. Health research in cooperation with industry and science and 4. Strengthening of the research landscape through structure optimisation and innovation. BMBF has a long standing expertise in joint international funding activities. Beyond its activities in EDCTP, BMBF participates in numerous ERA-Net and joint programming initiatives.

Luxembourg
Fonds National de la Recherche Luxembourg (FNR)
A central pillar of research in Luxembourg, the Fonds National de la Recherche Luxembourg (FNR) supports researchers in their work, contributes to the development of public research in Luxembourg, encourages international collaborations and the mobility of researchers, and promotes scientific culture. Since 2000, the FNR has implemented various thematic and structural Research Programmes, through which research projects in priority areas for Luxembourg are financed, Accompanying Measures, through which scientific conferences, publications, trainings or other smaller activities may be financed, the allocation of the AFR (Aides à la formation-recherche) Grant Scheme with the objective to financially support PhDs and Postdocs in their training and a strong support of the promotion of scientific culture in Luxembourg.

NACCAP

Norway
The Norwegian Directorate of Health
The Norwegian Directorate of Health is a specialized agency under the Ministry of Health and Care Services. As such, it is responsible for the compilation of various ordinances, national guidelines and campaigns. It also advises the ministries concerned on health policies and legislation. Its administrative activities involve management of grants for service projects and research, the Norwegian Patient Register and the implementation of certain statutes, while it executes diverse programmes designed to promote public health and improve the living conditions in general.

Institute of Health Carlos III (ISCIII)
ISCIII is a public legally autonomous body whose main activities include the promotion of biomedical and other health science research, as well as regulatory issues (e.g. Biobanks) and a main focus in supporting the Spanish National Health System (SNS).
ISCIII via the Fund for Health of Spain (FIS) is the main public body to fund Biomedical and Health Research and Health Research Assessment Projects, Infrastructures and Capacity Building.
